Greg Bever

Greg Bever, former publisher of The Journal of Business in Spokane, began his five-year term on Community Colleges of Spokane’s Board of Trustees in October 2007.

Gov. Chris Gregoire re-appointed him to second five-year term in August 2012.

Bever was with The Journal of Business since 1997, retiring in January 2012. Prior to that, he was valley operations manager for The Spokesman-Review and taught business and marketing classes part time at Eastern Washington University, Cheney.

Bever holds a bachelor’s degree from EWU and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University. He received EWU’s Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2004.

He is a past president of Spokane Valley Rotary and assistant district governor for Rotary International; past chair of the Spokane International Trade Alliance; past chair of the Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce; and past president of the Inland Northwest Council Boy Scouts of America. Bever also has held leadership positions on the Spokane Regional Economic Development Council, Spokane Region Convention and Visitors Bureau, Spokane Sports Commission and CenterPlace at Mirabeau Point in the Spokane Valley.
