INFANT TODDLER

position is 9 months, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Other
positions may become available during the next six months; terms (9 months to
12 months) will vary.
Position
Profile: Under the general direction of the Center
Manager, this position performs recurring routine job duties and assignments
under the daily direction of the Early Childhood Program Specialist 3 (Lead
Teacher) in implementing the educational curriculum and the general operation
of an infant/toddler classroom in a lab school setting. Beginning monthly salary is $2,378 (Range
36).
Required Competencies
(minimum qualifications)
·
Thirty
quarter credit hours in early childhood development/education/special
education; or equivalent.
·
Experience
in an early childhood program.
·
Acceptance
of the responsibility to promote the welfare and best interests of students at
all times.
·
A
demonstrable understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals and
objectives of CCS.
·
The
ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws,
regulations and goals of the institution, community and technical college
system.
·
A
demonstrated understanding and value for the contributions that a diverse
workforce can make to the success of the organization and the students we
serve.
·
Knowledge of early childhood education theory and
practices, including child development, developmentally appropriate practices,
observation and ongoing assessment, individualizing, planning, special
services, referrals, developing and maintaining a classroom environment and
routines, and child management.
·
Ability
to communicate effectively in written and oral English.
·
Excellent
interpersonal communication skills.
·
Knowledge of appropriate techniques for diapering,
sanitation, napping, feeding, and toilet training.
·
Must
be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Preferred
Competencies (desired qualifications)
·
B.A.
in Early Childhood Education or related field.
·
One
Year experience working with infant/toddler children.
·
Previous
experience with Head Start or working with low income families.
·
STARS
training.
