COSMETOLOGY INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNICIAN

(Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 1)

Review Begins Open until filled

 

Position is 26 hours (65%) per week, twelve (12) months per year.  Hours are 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m.-4:430 p.m. on Saturday.

 

Position Profile:  Under general supervision, this position provides instructional support within the cosmetology department by organizing and maintaining materials, supplies and equipment as needed.  This position will assist with instruction and evaluation of student objectives and network and market the program within the community.   Beginning monthly salary is $1,655 (Range 39).

 

Required Competencies (minimum qualifications)

·         A demonstrable understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals and objectives of CCS.

·         The ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution, community and technical college system.

·         A demonstrated understanding and value for the contributions that a diverse workforce can make to the success of the organization and the students we serve.

·         Knowledge of barbering, cosmetology, manicuring and esthetics.

·         Customer service experience.

·         Ability to work as a member of a team.

·         Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

·         Strong organizational skills.

·         Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

·         Current Washington State Licenses as an Instructor/Operator in manicuring and esthetics.

 

Preferred Competencies (desired qualifications)

·         A Bachelor's Degree in related.

·         Two years related experience.

·         Current Washington State Licenses as an Instructor/Operator in Cosmetology and/or Barbering.
