PROGRAM ASSISTANT
IN-TRAINING TO PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Position
Profile: This is an in-training appointment in the
Financial Aid and WorkSource departments.
Under general direction this position will disseminate information about
SFCC financial aid application and award process and procedures to
students/parents both in person and on the phone. The position will complete a preliminary
review of the financial aid application data submitted and track the documents
into the computer system. The Program
Assistant will work with the Associate Director of Financial Aid to determine
eligibility for the Opportunity Grant, enter the awards into the financial aid
system and maintain the required documentation. Utilize federal and state financial aid
regulations as well as SFCC financial aid policies and procedures, to review
pre-selected students who are not selected for verification and are no-need or
no-grant candidates. The position will assist with WorkFirst student’s weekly
record keeping. Beginning monthly salary
is $2,212 (Range 32).

Preferred
Competencies (desired qualifications)
·
Knowledge
of Federal Needs Analysis Methodology.
·
Knowledge
of Federal and State financial aid programs.
·
Experience
running computer report writer reports to obtain data.
·
Extensive
knowledge of Family Education Rights and Privacy Act.
·
Understand
and be able to use the Regent Financial Aid software, the CIS applications-FAS,
SMS and FMS cashiering software and U.S. Department of Education web based
software- EDExpress, FAAccess, National Student Loan Data System software and
Common Origination and Disbursement.
