How do I find out about current job openings?

There are several ways: call the job line; stop in our office during regular business hours; or visit our website.

What is CCS's application deadline?
Applications must be received in our office by 5 p.m. (Pacific time) by the closing date indicated on the job announcement. Applications received in the Human Resources Office after the closing date will not be considered. It is the applicant's responsibility to make certain that each application is complete and that all requested materials are received by the deadline. Please fax, hand deliver, or mail your application well in advance of the closing date. All materials included in an application packet become the property of the Community Colleges of Spokane and will not be returned or copied for applicant use.

What does a position "review date" mean?
CCS is not closing the recruitment on a specific date, however, applications are encouraged prior to or at least by the review date to ensure full consideration..

Do you accept faxed applications?
Yes, however, CCS cannot be responsible for material that is illegible or missing as a result of transmitting by FAX. Any faxed applications should be followed with a hard copy to be received within 5 days of the closing date.

Please be aware that our fax machine is often busy. For your convenience, the Human Resources Office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I've turned in my application; what happens now?
Once you have turned in your application it must pass through a series of screenings. This process does not begin until after the closing date. The HR Office will conduct a prescreening review of all applications for completeness and minimum requirements. Please review the Application Procedures as well as the Education and Experience Requirements on the job announcement for details.

If your application is incomplete or does not meet the minimum requirements of the position, we will inform you by mail.

If your application is complete and meets the minimum requirements of the position, it will be passed forward to the hiring supervisor or the screening committee. They will perform a detailed review of the applications, and offer interviews to chosen candidates. If you are not selected for an interview you will receive notification. This process can take anywhere from four to six weeks.
