INTERIOR DESIGN INSTRUCTOR
ADJUNCT

Spokane Falls
Community College seeks qualified candidates for consideration of employment in
this adjunct (part-time) position of Interior Design. Through SFCC’s Interior Design Program,
students may earn an A.A.S. in Interior Design or a 3-year Professional
Diploma. Also, students may participate
in the program’s WSU Transfer Track option, enabling them, after three years at
SFCC, to transfer to the Washington State University Interdisciplinary Design Institute
and, in one year, earn a B.A. SFCC seeks
candidates with sufficient breadth and depth of expertise in Interior Design to
teach across the program’s curriculum.
Specific courses assigned – as well as the total workload – will depend
on the selected candidate’s strengths.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Teach Interior Design
courses.
· Assignments can
include distance education modes of instruction.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (Minimum
Qualifications):
·
An
earned Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited
institution.
·
Acceptance
of the responsibility to promote the welfare and best interests of students at
all times.
·
A
demonstrable understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals and
objectives of CCS.
·
The
ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws,
regulations and goals of the institution, community and technical college
system.
·
A
demonstrated understanding and value for the contributions that a diverse
workforce can make to the success of the organization and the students we
serve.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES (Desirable
Qualifications):
·
Professional
experience in Interior Design or Architecture.
·
One
year of experience teaching college (may include experience as graduate
instructor).
·
National
Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) Certification.
TERMS
OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is an adjunct (part-time) position. Compensation will be pro-rated according to
the amount of workload assigned. CCS
reserves the right to cancel this recruitment without notice. Academic employees are represented by the
Association of Higher Education (AHE), which is affiliated with NEA and
WEA. Membership is optional.
CONDITIONS
FOR EMPLOYMENT:
Person hired must be able to provide
acceptable documentation of U.S. Citizenship or lawful authorization to work in
the U.S. This is an absolute condition
of employment. In addition, CCS
maintains a drug free work and learning environment and prohibits smoking in
all college buildings and state-owned vehicles.
CCS employees must be able to successfully work in and promote a
