Operating Budget

Community Colleges of Spokane prepares an annual District budget comprising individual unit budgets for SCC, SFCC and central administration units. 

The State Legislature enacts a biennial budget each odd year, and in each even year they may pass a supplemental budget.  The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges allocates state appropriations to the 34 colleges in the system, and this allocation forms the basis for the CCS District budget.  Other components of the budget include tuition and fees, grants and contracts, and local funds.  Capital budgeting is conducted separately.

The Board of Trustees approves the operating budget each spring, and it takes effect on July 1st (the first day of the State Fiscal Year). Changes to tuition, fees and waivers take effect in the Fall quarter. Click here to review the State Allocation Operating Budget.
