About the CCS Foundation

Supporting students is the heart of the CCS Foundation.  Since 1973, the Foundation has worked to improve educational access for students and enhance programs at the Community Colleges of Spokane.

Greetings!  As the new Board President, I have been so excited this year to see all the ways you transform lives every day with your gifts. From the single parent who needed a bus pass to get to class, to the incoming Honors College freshman who received a full academic scholarship, it is a joy to watch how your support helps our students take steps towards building brighter lives and better futures.

But the work of the Foundation also goes deeper than these individual contributions. By working to build permanent endowments and future generations of benefactors, the Foundation is taking steps to ensure that students and programs will receive necessary financial support long into the future.

I am inspired by the example of Margaret Ross Thrailkill, who not only supported the CCS Foundation through her lifetime, but also established a planned gift and instilled generosity in her children and grandchildren, who continue to give in many ways. Thanks to her legacy, the Foundation has a permanent source of future funding, as well as an ongoing relationship with Margaret’s family.

By donating your time, talent and treasure, you are ensuring a strong future for the Foundation and the Colleges. I want to thank you for the part you’ve played in changing the lives of our students, our programs, and our campus communities. I am grateful for your support over the past year and encourage you to continue to be involved in our lifechanging mission in the years to come.

Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. Here’s to another year of building brighter lives and better futures, one student at a time!
