CCS Foundation Aircraft Hangar Campaign Takes Flight

CCS Foundation has launched a campaign to raise $60,000 for the purchase of a temporary hangar that will house aircraft used in Spokane Community College’s (SCC) aviation maintenance technology program. This program is in the process of relocating to a 6 acre site near the Spokane International Airport. The new site currently has an instructional facility, but no hangar.

SCC has asked the Foundation to fund a temporary hangar that will be used until a permanent structure can be built. To acquire the funds necessary for this project, the Foundation is seeking donations from individuals and organizations in our region that have an interest in the aerospace industry.

SCC’s aviation maintenance program is a key component in the current statewide aerospace initiatives being promoted by Governor Christine Gregoire. With the move to the airport, SCC will be poised to expand its program and introduce other aerospace related courses in response to industry needs.
