The Touch the Future house project at Community Colleges of Spokane is an innovative endeavor offering valuable hands-on training to community college students while raising funds for scholarships and programs. The project is a partnership between Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation and the building trades programs at Spokane Community College.
Each year, the foundation underwrites the construction costs and procures donations for a residential home built by SCC carpentry students. The completed house is sold and the revenue generated funds Touch the Future scholarships and provides support for career and technical programs.
In 2009, CCS Foundation is launching a campaign to raise $400,000 for this important project. Gifts to this campaign will give students the opportunity to gain the skills they need to create brighter futures for themselves and their families, while enhancing the quality of programs offered by Community Colleges of Spokane.
