Foundation Launches Planetarium Campaign
CCS Foundation and Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) will be seeing stars once $200,000 is raised to complete the addition of a state-of-the-art planetarium in the new SFCC science building. Construction on the science building is underway and space has been designated for the planetarium, but private funds are needed to complete the purchase and installation of a high quality projection system and construction of the exterior dome.
SFCC students in science programs from astronomy to biology and chemistry will utilize the planetarium, but educational programs will also be provided for area K-12 students. Special interest groups and the community at large will be invited to attend regular shows and events put on in the facility.
The addition of the planetarium will promote the sciences to students of all ages, strengthen SFCC’s science curriculum, and serve as a valuable resource to the community.
The foundation is currently seeking the support of individuals and organizations to make the full vision for the planetarium on the SFCC campus a reality. To make a gift to this campaign, donors can give online or send a contribution to CCS Foundation, MS 1005, PO Box 6000, Spokane, WA 99217-6000.
