2007 Foundation Scholarship RecipientsSupporting students is at the core of everything the CCS Foundation does. We are proud to have awarded $2,687,987 in scholarships to 12,203 students over the last 10 years. Our annual Touch the Future scholarships assist many students demonstrating financial need as well as those who excel in the classroom. Community support helps fund these scholarships and the more than 160 other named scholarships offered through the foundation.

Please note that you may fill out one CCS Foundation scholarship application and be eligible for all scholarships for which you qualify. 

All students are encouraged to apply for Foundation Scholarships whether or not you are receiving other forms of financial assistance.

A Nanny Mouse Scholarship 
To provide scholarships to English as a Second Language students to assist with tuition expenses.

Chip Abrams Memorial Scholarship
Preference to 2nd year SCC students with financial need who have successfully completed remedial math course at SCC. 

Jeanne Abrams Wood Scholarship
To provide scholarships to nursing students, preference to those who have served in the military.

Academic Achievement Scholarship
For students who have attended SCC or SFCC at least one quarter with a grade point of 3.0 or higher. Must be a full-time student (10 or more credit hours). 1 or 2 scholarships awarded each year.

AGC Civil Engineering Scholarship
4th quarter civil engineering technology students, minimum 2.5 GPA, full-time status. Up to four scholarships awarded yearly. 

Avista’s Bob Smith Memorial Scholarship
To provide scholarships to CCs students in selected fields. First preference is to students entering Line Construction program at SCC.

Bob Baker Scholarship
For full-time CCS students, 2.5 minimum GPA, who are paying for a part of their education. Preference to students who are single parents. Second preference to students in professional/technical programs. Up to six scholarships awarded annually.

Lee & Gertie Banks Scholarship
Scholarships for students from Curlew High School attending or planning to attend CCS. Must be full-time students, minimum 2.5 GPA.

Basic Skills Scholarship
For past or present (GED) students not receiving other forms of assistance. Available through the Institute for Extended Learning.

Boiardi Culinary Arts Scholarship
Full-time SCC culinary arts students, minimum 2.5 GPA. Three or four awards annually.

Walter Caleson Memorial Scholarship
Orthotics/Prosthetics students, minimum 2.5 GPA. Students must demonstrate financial need and enthusiasm for profession.

Janice & Bruce Campbell Memorial Scholarship
Single parent working toward a college or nontraditional degree.

Carpentry Scholarship
Carpentry students with good class attendance, above average scores in classroom and lab, financial need.

Catron Scholarship for Deaf & Hard of Hearing
Deaf or hard of hearing student attending SCC or SFCC. Scholarship may cover tuition, fees or testing related to career goal or degree.

Cheney Environmental Association Scholarship
Second year student in Natural or Water Resources programs at SCC. 2.5 or higher GPA.

China Study Abroad Scholarship
SCC student planning to attend China Study Abroad Program.

Classified Staff Scholarship
For CCS classifed staff attending four-year colleges or universities.

Cosmetology Scholarship
Cosmetology student at Spokane Community College.

L. M Dickson Scholarship
For full-time students at CCS, minimum 2.5 GPA, financial need. Two scholarships awarded annually.

Gary Douvia Scholarship
Scholarships for students attending classes at the CCS Colville Center, SCC or SFCC. Colville students are given priority.

Steve Dunsmoor Memorial Scholarship
CCS student who is a dependent of a member of Carpenters Union Local 98.

Early Learning Center Child Care/SFCC Scholarship
To provide child care funds for full-time students attending SFCC who are not covered by any other subsidy and whose children are enrolled at the Early Learning Center.

SFCC photography student.

Eikrem Scholarship
Full time CCS students, minimum 2.5 GPA, resident of Spokane county with financial need. Two or three scholarships awarded annually.

Electrical Department Scholarship
Eligible student taking electrical department courses at SCC, 2.5 minimum GPA, financial need.

Electronic Scholarship
Electronic students at SCC.

Embanet/John Thompson Scholarship
Part time CCS students with financial need employed a minimum of 20 hours a week. 2.5 GPA. Spokane county resident.

Emergency Scholarship
Available to SCC and SFCC students who require emergency assistance up to $150 maximum. One time only award. Emergency scholarships are available through the Financial Aid office at SCC and SFCC.

Glenn E. Emmons Graphic Design Scholarship
For full-time students enrolled in SFCC's graphic design program. Preference is given to Spokane County residents.

Fluid Power Scholarship
Second quarter Fluid power technology students at SCC, minimum 2.5 GPA.

Footsteps to Follow Scholarship
Full-time CCS students seeking teaching and/or research career in biological sciences. Minimum 3.0 GPA, preference to 2nd year students.

GFWC Woman's Club of Spokane Scholarship
For full-time students enrolled in nursing or education programs with financial need.

Garco Construction Scholarship
For students in civil engineering or carpentry programs.

Bob Greene/DEC/SCC Scholarship
To recognize outstanding performance of SCC business students in Delta Epsilon Chi (a division of DECA).

Bob Greene/DEC/SFCC Scholarship
Current Delta Epsilon Chi member enrolled in business courses at SFCC, 2.5 minimum GPA.

Bob and Margaret Gregg Scholarship
For fine art students at SFCC. Based on critical evaluation of portfolio of 1st and 2nd year Fine Art Degree students.

Hagan Student Book Scholarship
To provide assistance to CCS students to purchase text books. Available to students with financial need through Financial Aid offices at SCC and SFCC.

Mark & Lori Hall Scholarship
West Valley High School students planning to attend CCS. Financial Need.

Raymond and Lois Hanson Scholarship
For pre-engineering or technical education students; recipients work with CCS faculty.

Spencer Haugh Memorial Scholarship
Full-time photography student at SFCC, minimum 3.0 GPA.

Helen Hazen Rymond Scholarship
Scholarships for women students in Change Point, Project Self-Sufficiency, I-Best and college prep programs for non-tuition incidentals, i.e., testing fees, daycare, etc.

Health Sciences Scholarship
Full-time CCS students in health service program, 2.5 GPA, financial need. Two scholarships awarded annually.

Hearing Aid Consultants Scholarship
Full-time student in hearing instrument specialist program at SFCC. Washington resident.

Ken Hinton Memorial Scholarship
For SFCC fine art students. Criteria determined by SFCC Fine Arts Department

Horticulture Scholarship
For SCC horticulture students with financial need and minimum 2.5GPA/

Human Relations Scholarship
SCC student in human relations courses. Scholarship award intended to be used for Human Relations activities.

HVAC-R Student Group Scholarship
HVAC students enrolled at SCC, financial need, 2.5 GPA and good classroom attendance.

IEL Scholarship
For students attending the Institute of Extended Learning with financial need. Scholarships to assist students with necessary expenses required to attend CCS (i.e, GED testing fees, assessment fees, etc.)

Inland Society of Optimetric Physicians Scholarship
Students attending or planning to attend Vision Care Technology program at Spokane Community College.

Hallien Johnson Memorial Scholarship
Women students in continuing education programs at CCS with financial need.

Dr. Walter S. Johnson Memorial Scholarship
CCS students with financial need, preference to students involved in athletics.

Jerry Jones DEC Scholarship
Scholarships for DEC students at SCC.

Kaiser Manufacturing & Technology Scholarship
CCS students in manufacturing technology or skilled crafts such as Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Electrial Maintenance Technology, Electronics Engineering, Fluid Power, Machine Shop Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology. Two or three scholarships awarded annually.

Joseph Kaufman Sociology Scholarship
CCS student majoring in sociology or social work.

Diane J. Keller Celebration of Life Scholarship
2nd year student in Respiratory Care program at Spokane Community College.

Kendall Family Scholarship
For full-time CCS students who are single parents, 2.5 minimum GPA, preference is given to students who are already enrolled.

Charmaine Kolb ESL Scholarship
Student enrolled in ESL program at the Institute for Extended Learning.

Law Enforcement Scholarship
Full-time law enforcement student, minimum 2.5 GPA.

LS/Shirley & Betty Scholarship
For students with financial need who are participants in IEL Life Skills/Women's Programs.

Paul Lydig Scholarship
Full-time CCS students enrolled in civil engineering, pre-engineering, carpentry or cabinetry programs. Minimum 2.5 GPA. 

MAC Tool Scholarship

o provide annual scholarships of $100 to Automotive/Diesel Heavy Equipment students only.

Matthews Respiratory Care Scholarship
First or second year Respiratory Care student. Minimum 3.0 GPA.

K. McGinnis/Headstart Scholarship
Tuition scholarships for Headstart/ECEAP parents with financial need.

McGregor Ag Tech Scholarship
Second year Ag Tech student at SCC, minimum 2.8 GPA.

Jennifer McLaughlin Memorial Scholarship
Female CCS student who is endeavoring to improve her life through education.

F. W. McMulkin Memorial Scholarship
CCS student, 3.0 GPA, preference to Eastern Washington resident, also preference to SCC student.

Multicultural/SFCC Scholarship
CCS student referred by SFCC counselor, minimum 2.0 GPA.

Multicultural Teller Scholarship
Teller training scholarships for multicultural SCC student with financial need.

National Association of Women in Construction Scholarship
Student in WINS program pursuing nontraditional career. Financial need to be considered.

J. Nau Memorial Scholarship
Business students with minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference to accounting students. 

Roy & Leona Nelson Foundation Scholarship
Eastern Washington or Northern Idaho high school graduates planning to attend CCS. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need.

Don Nepean Exhibit Scholarship
Award to outstanding graduating student in Exhibit, Art 261 class.

Don Olson Scholarship
Work scholarship for CCS students. High academic standing, must work with a faculty member. One scholarship awarded annually to SCC and SFCC.

Helen Owen Health Science Scholarship
Full-time CCS student in health sciences with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Pace Services Scholarship
To assist physically, mentally or otherwise challenged adults with financial need to attend employment-oriented classes at the Institute of Extended Learning.

Painted Hills Men's Club Scholarship
Incoming freshman from Spokane County resident minimum 2.5 GPA.

C. V. Payne Memorial Scholarship
Civil engineering students at SCC interested in surveying career.

Jean Payne Scholarship
Student with financial need enrolled in parent education classes with children enrolled in affiliated preschool.

Dr. Lawrence Pence Health Science Scholarship
Full-time health science students, minimum 2.8 GPA. Two scholarships awarded annually.

Pend Oreille Valley Scholarship
Second year full-time student at Newport Institute of Extended Learning.

Gerard H Phan Scholarship
Second year French student at SFCC minimum 3.8 GPA.

Phi Theta Kappa/Beta Gamma Kappa Scholarship
Active PTK/BGK member attending CCS essay required.

Lois Roach Scholarship
For second year liberal arts students at SCC maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA.

To provide scholarships to Eastern Washington students with limited financial means to attend CCS.

Second year nursing student with financial need and sincere interest in pursuing nursing as a career, 3.0 minimum GPA

Klaus Scherler Journalism Achievement Scholarship
Full-time SFCC student who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to journalism and/or the Communicator newspaper. 

Don Schmick Scholarship
Whitman county students attending or planning to attend CCS.

Walter Scroggie Memorial Scholarship
To provide scholarships to Pateros High School graduates attending or planning to attend CCS.

Selinger Change Point Bridge Scholarship
To assist students who have successfully completed the Change Point program and who are enrolling in a CCS program of study.

Scholarships for seniors to attend classes at the Institute of Extended Learning.

SFCC Humanities Scholarship
Scholarships for students in music, drama, fine arts, social sciences and humanities. 3.0 GPA or higher.

Scholarship for a culinary arts student who graduated from the Spokane Skills Center and is now planning to attend SCC's culinary arts program.

Spokesman-Review Adult Literacy Scholarship
Low income students attending Adult Basic Education classes at the Institute for Extended Learning.

Sprint Scholarship
Merit based scholarship, minimum 3.5 GPA, sophomore status, full-time student attending SFCC. Three or four scholarships awarded annually.

Richard & Susan Stannard Scholarship
For non-traditional age students enrolling at CCS for the first time or returning to school after an extended period. Financial need and minimum2.6 GPA.

J. W. Steele Scholarship Fund
For architecture or other vocational students at SCC with financial need.

STEP Scholarship
Students who have completed their GED at the IEL, to provide scholarships for Compas and admissions test fees.

H. F. Stevens Aviation Scholarship
For second year aviation maintenance students, proven academic ability, personal commitment to the program.

Work scholarships available to full-time business students at CCS. Minimum 3.0 GPA, financial need. 

Tomich Scholarship
Single women between 20 and 45 years of age with children.

Touch the Future Scholarship
For current CCS students and incoming freshmen. Minimum 2.5 GPA. Need based and/or academic merit awards. Twenty or more scholarships awarded annually.

Alma Treede Scholarship
Full-time CCS students, Minimum 2.5 GPA.

Trustee's Scholarship
CCS students, minimum 3.0 GPA, financial need, demonstrate leadership in the community or school.

Unity in the Community Scholarship
For CCS students enrolled full-time, 2.5 minimum GPA, active in the community.

Washington Hearing Healthcare Providers Scholarship
For students enrolled in the Hearing Instrument Specialist Program at SFCC.

Westcoast Hospitality Corporation Scholarship
For students enrolled in SCC Hospitality Department courses. Minimum 2.5 GPA.

Western Wireless Scholarship
Merit based scholarship, minimum 3.5 GPA, sophomore status.

Dale Wilson Scholarship
For students with financial need enrolled at CCS. Preference to students in agriculture, business and psychology or related fields. Priority to students from the eastern part of Lincoln county.
