Arts, audio/visual technology and communications
Create, record and transmit information

Cluster description
These career fields create, record and transmit everything from strong emotion to basic information.  Our programs prepare students for entry-level jobs, self-employment or transfer to four-year universities.

Necessary skills
Different jobs require different skills, but these fields generally require creativity, excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and advanced computing and technology skills.  All career fields are changing rapidly as technology and generations change.

Educational path
Programs generally last two years, at which point students receive an associate in applied science degree.  Some degrees are designed to transfer to four-year universities.  Some fields offer shorter certificate programs.  Other paths provide skills for entry-level jobs and high-skill careers.  Be sure to work with a counselor to develop your personalized educational plan.
