Cluster description
Educational professionals teach and train students of all ages or provide services to other educators.  Teachers and trainers work directly with students.  Other educators include counselors, social workers, speech therapists and school principals.  

Necessary skills
Educators must possess subject knowledge, patience and excellent communication skills.  They must inspire trust and confidence in others and motivate learners. 

Educational path
Educational professionals include some of the most highly educated workers in the labor force.  Some professions require licensing or certification.  Programs generally last two years, at which point students receive an associate's degree.  Several associate's degrees are designed to transfer to four-year universities.  Be sure to work with a counselor to develop your personalized educational plan.
