Cluster description
These career fields prepare students to enter jobs in financial planning, banking, insurance and business financial management.  Some careers help individuals plan their financial futures, others analyze and generate financial reports that help companies make important decisions. 

Necessary skills

These careers demand a solid background in math and computer skills.  Communication skills also are necessary to understand and explain complex financial matters.  Financial professionals must possess a highly developed attention to detail.


Educational path
Financial professionals have a degree and often certification or licensure in their field.  CCS programs generally last two years, at which point students receive an associate degree.   Some programs offer shorter certificate programs. Be sure to work with a counselor to develop your personalized educational plan.
