Millions of Americans work for their federal, state or local government.  Government jobs include virtually every career type, from national security and foreign service to public administration and taxation.  Government positions generally have excellent benefits and provide good ladders for career advancement.

Necessary skills

The range of necessary skills is as broad as the array of government careers.  Government positions demand high ethical standards. 

Educational path
Both political science and ROTC programs are designed as transfer programs.  Students earn an associate's degree in approximately two years then transfer to a four-year school for an eventual bachelor’s degree.
