Basketball Star Levi Taylor Leads Sasquatch

Meet Levi Taylor. He is the leading scorer for the Spokane Sasquatch Men’s Basketball Team that finished their regular season last weekend in first place with a 25-3 record. As they head towards NWAC playoffs next month, Levi found some time to reflect on his life, challenges and victories with Jim Allen from the Spokesman Review.

Life has never been as easy as scoring 40 point per games for Levi. Two seasons on the CWU football team, injuries and being away from his daughters were tough. He came back to Spokane to be closer to his family. But he wasn’t satisfied working odd jobs. He tried to continue his football career with the Spokane Shock. He made it pretty far in their selection process, but ended up missing the final roster as a defensive back.

After meeting CCS basketball coach Jeremy Groth, he decide to go back to school and pick up a basketball again. The team has helped Levi set some goals. He wants to continue onto a four year school and get his degree in management. As the first person in his family to attend college, that will be a huge accomplishment.

Follow Levi and the Sasquatch as they get closer to another NWAC championship.
