Spokane Community College’s Adult Education program is kicking off its new mobile food bank with Second Harvest on Wednesday, October 14 from noon to 2 p.m. at its Adult Education Center at 2310 N. Monroe Street, Spokane.

The goal of the program is to assist SCC Adult Education students with food and nutrition to help them succeed academically. However, it’s free and open to the public and no documentation is needed. There will be free produce, nutritious perishable product and other groceries for all families in need.

The program is supported by a $10,000 grant from the Amerigroup Foundation. Other resources and services will be available at the event coordinated by Amerigroup.

This is the first event in partnership with Second Harvest and Amerigroup, but they plan to hold him quarterly. For more information, contact the SCC Adult Education Center at 509-533-4600.
