Northwest Farm Credit Services (Northwest FCS), in partnership with the Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation, just announced it will offer $10,000 in scholarships to veterans studying in the General Agriculture, Agriculture/Horticulture, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management and Water Resources Technology programs at Spokane Community College. Providing these opportunities to veterans, while supporting the future of agriculture in the region, is a priority for Northwest FCS.

“Northwest Farm Credit Services is very proud of the military men and women who have served our country,” said Linda Hendricksen, senior vice president of marketing and public relations. “We’re pleased to honor them and provide assistance as they transition to a new career.”

CCS is dedicated to providing resources and financial assistance to current service members, veterans and their families. This first-time partnership between Northwest FCS and the CCS Foundation is a positive step in connecting veterans with much needed resources. The foundation has awarded $2,004,254 in scholarships to 6,875 students over the last 5 years and welcomes donations to support student success.

Northwest Farm Credit Services is the Northwest's leading agricultural lender and crop insurance provider. As a customer-owned financial cooperative, the organization provides nearly $12 billion in credit and related services to those who make their home and livelihood in rural America.

“The CCS Foundation is grateful for the generous support from Northwest Farm Credit Services, which will increase the opportunities for veterans seeking a quality education,” said CCS Chancellor Christine Johnson. “These scholarships will complement the skills and expertise they received while serving their country and aid in their pursuit of a career that is successful and rewarding.”
