Entry Requirements

Selection of students is based on the following criteria as established by industry hiring practices and the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS):
 
  1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent degree.
  3. Additional qualifications considered in the screening process: professional appearance, communication skills, emotional stability, and ability to relate to a wide variety of people representing a broad physical, physiological, and socioeconomic spectrum.
  4. Ability move and transport objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
  5. Good manual dexterity, a steady hand, good hand/eye coordination, and ability to identify colors.
  6. Must have ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended times.
  7. Each candidate must pass a criminal background check per WAC 388-113-0020.
  8. Must have negative drug screen at time of admissions, this includes marijuana.
  9. Must attend mandatory orientation session.
 
Admissions Process
 
Students are selected through a screening process, which includes a mandatory information session, written application/questionnaire and selection interview. Anyone interested in being considered for the course should call (509)533-8057 and ask to be placed on the interest list
