Carol Landa-McVicker
|
Carol Landa-McVicker is a human resource analyst with Spokane County and a long-time civic activist. She is serving her second term as a CCS trustee, through September 2008; sits on the executive board for the statewide Trustees Association for Community and Technical Colleges (TACTC);and serves as chair of its Creating Opportunities Committee.
In her work with the county, Landa-McVicker is involved in labor relations, contract compliance, compensation/classification, diversity issues, sexual harassment awareness training and complaint investigations.

Currently vice-chair of the Regional Task Force on Human Relations, Landa-McVicker is a former president of the Spokane Area League of Women Voters, and graduate of Leadership Spokane (class 2000).
She has served on the Spokane Regional Chamber of Commerce Diversity Committee; two terms as diversity chair for the Northwest Regional Human Resource Management Association (NHRMA); and was co-chair of the 2003 Community Congress on Race Relations. In 2003, she received the TACTC Outstanding Advocate for Equity Award and in 2005, the Woman of Distinction Award from Soroptimist International of Spokane.
Landa-McVicker was raised in the Spokane Valley where her father, a native of Mexico, served as honorary Mexican Consul for over 40 years.
Her degrees include a B.A. in psychology from Stanford University (1967) and a M.S. in education from the University of Washington (1971). |
